Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a car and trying to flee from authorities.

Officials said two McKees Rocks police officers saw Troy Naylor, 23, try to hit a man with a stolen car in the Shoppes at Chartiers Crossing plaza in Esplen.

The officers said they chased Naylor’s car along Stanhope Street and onto West Carson Street. The officers said Naylor reached speeds of almost 100 mph.

According to the police report, Naylor crashed into a barrier near the West End Circle exit ramp and then reversed his car into the officer’s car.

The report said Naylor then got out of the car and ran from the scene. One of the officers eventually captured him and Naylor was arrested, according to police.

Naylor was taken to Allegheny County Jail and is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault on a police officer, fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving under the influence and driving under suspension. Officials said Naylor will like face additional charges as well.
